Living in chink, Green and I

The work is a bench that places equal importance on accommodating plants and accommodating humans. People sitting on this bench can see the world from the same height as the plants beside them, a design feature proposing a human-plant relationship that is not confrontational but accommodating, accepting both plants and humans as essential parts of the urban natural environment.

Born in 1976 in Ehime Pref. She graduated from the Department of Biology, Faculty of Science, Tohoku University in 1999 and the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering of the same university in 2001. Then she completed an architecture course at the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Tokyo University of the Arts in 2003. She worked at Toyo Ito & Associates, Architects from 2003 to 2008, and served as an assistant at Tohoku University from 2010 to 2013.
