The Kobe Biennale 2007 is the first art festival of significant scale to take place in Kobe. Various competitions have been held as part of the festival, with “Art in a Container” competition being the main one. Through these competitions we wish to discover and foster new talent. |

We invite the elementary school and kindergarten children to express their emotions – surprise, wonder, fun, sadness, beauty, etc – through painting. • September 27, 2007: Awards announced. Click here for exhibition date. ・Application: August 1 – September 10, 2007 Whether traditional or avant-garde, new creation is welcome. The work is to be no larger than 90 cubic cm, and less than 60kg. ・October 1, 2007: Awards announced. Click here for exhibition date. ・Mid-September 2007: 100 entries selected. These are to be exhibited at the main venue •June 20 – August 10, 2007: Application An object is called a “robot” as long as it involves technology of sensing, information processing and machine control. For robots, communicating with human being is yet to be developed. How are we going to live with the ever-evolving technologies – movement, sound and images? We invite artists/engineers to use the robot technology as an art medium to present a new type of art. ・November 3, 2007: Final selection for prizes ・September 20, 2007: Eight entries selected.
